The 6 Wackiest Nicknames In Bollywood

We went ROFL when Priyanka Chopra revealed her hilarious nickname on her debut appearance in the Anupam Kher Show. She was called ‘Meethu’ by her family members considering the chatterbox that she was! When she realized that parrots are generally called ‘Meethu’ as they are talkative, she totally disliked being called ‘Meethu.’

Well, even though PC loathed her funny nickname, we totally loved it and this reminds us PC is not the only one with such a wacky nickname. Hrithik Roshan is ‘The Hrithik Roshan’ for his fans but for family and friends he is simply Duggu. Likewise, there are several other stars who have rib-tickling nicknames. Like, literally!

BC looks at who is called what in the industry.

Aloo Kachchalu aka Alia Bhatt

Alia

It’s a known fact that the sizzling girl, who grabbed a lot of eyeballs with her recent bikini scene in Shaandaar, Alia Bhatt was comfortably plump before she entered the industry. She was rotund and the cutest nickname her mom could come up with was Aloo Kachchalu. Her sister called her Aloos whereas some people also called her Batata Vada. Now that she has lost weight she is nowhere near Batata Vada but as we say nicknames stay forever. So, Aloo Kachchalu it is for Alia!

Pappu aka Varun Dhawan

Varun-Dhawan

The most notorious kid on the block is Varun Dhawan. We have heard numerous stories of him donning the hat of a prankster and pulling pranks on his co-stars just like his father. Apart from being a prankster he is also a fabulous dancer. So we wonder why did his dad (David Dhawan) nicknamed him ‘Pappu.’ Even though it’s a hilarious one this ‘Pappu’ can surely dance. In a recent interview, Pappu (Oops, Varun) revealed that his nickname is really embarrassing and it reminds him of a Mexican Drug Lord.

Chirkut aka Shraddha Kapoor

Shraddha-Kapoor-posing

Now this one is the funniest of all! Aashiqui 2 girl Shraddha Kapoor has the most amusing nickname and this nickname is given to her by none other than the notorious kid and her ABCD 2 co-star Varun Dhawan. ‘Chirkut’ is the word we’re tripping on. Shraddha and Varun are childhood friends and there’s no doubt that the duo share a great rapport. So much so that he doesn’t miss a chance to take potshots at Shraddha by calling her Chirkut in front of the camera.

Giraffe Lady aka Sonam Kapoor

Sonam-Kapoor

All thanks to her towering figure, daddy Anil Kapoor nicknamed his little daughter Sonam Kapoor as ‘Giraffe.’ Sonam has that magnificent height that every girl would crave for but Anil made fun of her tall figure by calling her Giraffe during her childhood. How adorable, isn’t it?

Nusheshwar aka Anushka Sharma

Anushka-Sharma

In an interview, Anushka Sharma revealed that her parents didn’t give her a nickname as a child but instead her friends picked weird names for her. She is either called ‘Nusheshwar’ or ‘Nushsie’ by her friends.

Raymond Man aka Ranbir Kapoor

Ranbir-kapoor

Mom’s always pick up the best things for their kids – including picking a nickname for your adorable one. Mummy Neetu Singh who has always been protective of son Ranbir Kapoor chose an interesting nickname for RK – ‘Raymond.’ She thinks his son is a complete man and that’s what Raymond stands for. RK’s close friends and family members also call him ‘Ganglu,’ a nickname given by his grandfather Raj Kapoor. Interesting!

Is Anushka Sharma anorexic?

Anushka Sharma is one of the few Bollywood actresses who has been under constant media scanner for her weight loss issues.

Anushka has always been lean and slender and never bulky or over weight. But off late, the actress looks even more shriveled up and shrunken. The glow on her face also seem to have disappeared. As a result, she is the latest to join the long list of weight watchers.

Even at a recent awards show, Anushka extremely thin and withered in a black ruffled Armani gown.

There was was point when the media had tagged Anushka as anorexic. The actress slammed the media saying, “I have always been a lean girl. And for heaven’s sake, I am not anorexic. Anorexics eat so little. Watch me eat and you shall know.”

She also added saying, “I am very tall, 5’ 9” to be precise. This means that if I really put on weight, I shall start looking like a giant. I don’t have the tendency to put on weight. I am a size 8, UK. To call me sub zero is ridiculous.”

Despite requesting her fans to stop haunting her with the same question again and again, the media did not stop. She then said, “That’s all crap. I have always been on the thinner side. And look at the other side too. There are people who can’t lose weight. Why aren’t they asked about it? I am one of those people who can’t gain weight. That said, have I ever landed up in hospitals saying I am exhausted? I am a very fit girl. Think of it, only my parents should bother about my weight and even health. Next question, please.”

Buzz doing the rounds is that Anushka’s sudden weight loss might be because of her role in her forthcoming flick Peekay, opposite Aamir Khan. The actress plays the role of an alcohol addict in the film and hence the main reason to her sizing down.

The Rock vs. CM Punk Results: The Rock Wins WWE Title at Royal Rumble

After vowing to win the WWE championship the day after WrestleMania last year, The Rock finally fulfilled that promise at the Royal Rumble by defeating CM Punk to win the title for the first time since 2002.

The tease of Rock winning the title nearly one year ago set in motion the chain of events that would shape WWE throughout 2012, even though he was rarely around to see what was happening.

Rock's appearance on the 1,000th episode of Raw last summer provided all the fans would need to see about who he would be wrestling for the title on the pay-per-view. CM Punk berated Rock during that infamous "shoot" promo two years ago, leading to WWE building up to this match.
There have been so many times in WWE, especially over the last five years, when the creative team gets a good idea but doesn't have the patience to see it through to the end. Stories get rushed and nothing ever builds.

One of the great benefits of teasing a Rock-Punk match so far out, and Rock not being around each week, forced WWE to wait and deliver on its promise of having him win the championship at the Royal Rumble.

WWE could have taken the title off Punk at any point in the last 15 months, give it back to him and set up this match. Instead, the creative team stuck to the plan that it had in place a long time ago.

It was clearly the right call, because it gave the build to this match extra heft. If Punk had just come into the match as another champion, no one would have bought into him as a threat to someone like The Rock.

Having Punk come into the match holding the title for more than 400 days added more drama to the story than you typically get from a big-time WWE championship match. It felt like it meant something, which doesn't usually happen.

Now WWE can focus on setting up the WrestleMania main event with The Rock defending the title, presumably against John Cena.

Madonna – Still Licking Things After All These Years

When I first saw this picture I was all excited because I thought maybe Madonna’s spinal cord had snapped while she was singing “La Isla Bonita” but gamely tried to keep the show going.  Then I saw the crumpled up money and thought maybe she was bankrupt and some guy at a Waffle House gave her a fiver to lick a microphone he found on the ground.  But then I found out she wasn’t paralyzed or at Waffle House and did whatever that is she’s doing on purpose.

Then I allowed myself to think for 30 more seconds and realized that thousands of people in New York paid her money to do it.  Sort of makes me want Sandy to come back and punish them.  I can honestly and unapologetically say that I like TONS of Madonna songs.  But that’s as far as it goes.  I like Bob Dylan songs too but I would not pay money to watch him wheeze around the stage and mumble and lick things.

Just stop it, Madonna.  You are freaking me out.  You look like a big pile of ropes with David Letterman’s head on it.
